Its nothing to do with picking.
They pay the rights to broadcast the match. There is massive following in Ireland for Sunderland.
Also big following for Man Utd. I would imagine the rights to broadcast Man Utd matchs would cost more especially if its only broadcast in Ireland
with limited viewers compared to the U.K.

Then money talks and super sundays kick in with top teams playing each on tv.
Money talks to much in football.
(IE....SKY TV)

Been a long time since I seen these 3pm Saturday kick offs......
Man Utd VS Liverpool
Man City VS Man Utd
Arsenal VS Chelsea and so on.

Probably only a few in U.K. cant watch them matches. LOL.
