Shagged programmer

ok just had my new programmer delivered this mornin pluged it in 9v + supply pit card in and out came smoke. Spoke to the people who supplied it for corret power supply they say anything between 5v and 12v when I asked + - he said positve then asked was the power light on I said no changed to negative on came power light said thank you very much put down phone treid to read a rom 11 card light went out and has had no signs of life since has anybody got any thoughts if not 25 notes up the swaney oh well you have to lol unce:

i don the same mate but mine did work after a bit and the light went out but came back on 20 mins later.
