Marketing ploy? or do any of these offer a genuine saving over what can be achieved by cash discounting. Seems they mostly promote personal contract finance schemes which can work out expensive. Has anyone experienced a good cash deal where scrappage has proved worthwhile to the buyer?

Don't know about scrappage but I got a good deal on a trade in plus cash. Car dealers will always make money from you 1 way or another. I bought an approved used kia 10 months old but because its kia approved I get the full 7 year warranty full rac cover and a few other bits. Also about £7k less than new price.

Thanks IANB, Scrappage scheme normally available on new cars only but sounds like you had a good deal. Cash can be king but dealers love PCF, they get a good kick back from the finance companies
