receive message updating box

when viewing during the night i get the message "the box is being updated if i dont want it to do so press menu to view"
.it sometimes happens right in the middle of an interesting situation during the film.its very frustrating.im not bothered about these updatings.is there anyway i can configure tv to stop them pse

Is it a firmware update or just a channel scan?

Either way, I'd imagine there would be an option somewhere in the settings to disable it.

need to go into setup and turn off auto update.

thanks for your replies off to look at setup right now as im fed up a good film been interupted and by sods law right when the murderer was about to be disclosed tks again
