I did m8. Got a few replies for a leaking toilet that was seeping through the ceiling.

Said look at my ratings and they were good. Like the fact that he also said that it shouldnt cause x amount. So I went with him.

Did the job but said the ceiling has been damaged and should be replaced etc - fair enough so cost went up by a couple of £££.

That was not so bad - what was bad was that he left all the rubbish at the front garden and kept giving me excuses until I had to remove it myself coz the council were threatening to fine me etc!

Found out the receipt he gave containing company details were bogus and the company name used was already in liquidation (?)

anyway just to let you know that its not as clear as it may seem regarding the ratings etc.

Prefer to go via personal recommendations now.

goodluck

cheers aRo its just that i have registered as a locksmith with them, & the first lead i got from them was an unrecognised number. ive sent an email to the customer & will have to see what happens.
btw. costs £10+v to register for the first 3 months & then you have to buy the details from them to quote on the jobs. the first one is included in the subscription.
if anyones interested in joining as a tradesman, hold off for a bit & i'll update this post when i get a clearer picture of how good/bad it is.

let us know the outcome justintime, im a carpenter specialising in fitted kitchens etc so am wondering whether to sign up :goodluck:

sorry its been so long getting this reply.
been on rated people for a few months now, had a few good jobs from them.
they wanted £40 to renew my membership this time, but when i phoned to cancel they said i could go on pay as u go. this means i pay 50% more than paid members to buy the details.
on the whole it looks good for some trades, but not much on there for locksmiths. i have found that with locksmith work, the 1st to quote, usually gets the job.
plenty of work for kitchen fitters, but the higher the customer sets their budget, the more the details cost.
