Ive followed all instructions and everything seems ok,
im on ubr ****3 and ive got macs from ****6

everything looks like its connected fine

ive got network access allowed

everything looks ok

Acquire Downstream Channel 402750000 Hz Locked
Connectivity State OK Operational
Boot State OK Operational
Configuration File OK
Security Enabled BPI

ive manually added the dns services to my network connection

but ive got no internet access, i cant trace route anywhere - its as if ive got no DNS

any ideas (im pretty new to the cable modem stuff - but im experienced with networks)

its almost as if its a bad mac but ive tried a few, i'll try scanning again later

u need to disable bpi, if u can get a hold of the ambit config tool 0.96 and rewrite ur setting to the modem if u can get a hole of it then run hyperterminal and login to the modem through telnet then copy and paste the stop scan command to stop the scaning then copy and paste this command

cd /non-vol/docsis
enable bpi false
write
cd /
reset

and reboot the modem

Tried all this still no go,
strange as i think the UBR thing is ok, (macs scanned from a modem a mile away)

ill try rescanning some

macs might be to close try a different ubr about 2miles away

It depends where you are as to distance. If you are out in the sticks you may well have to get a Mac from 20+ miles away !
