mpga to mp3

hi, i have a number of mpga's which i listen to at work using real player. At home my PC-player (creative playcenter 2) only handles mp3's. I have renamed my mpga's to mp3s and they play but they tend to shut off half way through the song, sometimes not working at all.

Are there any converters programs out there or should i look to install real player or other on my home pc.
