Marantz NR1608 Slimline

I had the 1504 a couple of years back, only used it for stereo sound. I found the remote app a bit unreliable and the internet radio stations were a joke. but for straightforward audio I couldn't complain. I never used the surround.
I sold it on when I was given a Sony ES series power amp, got my money back so was quite happy.

I own a Marantz NR1609 and I’m very happy with it. It drives a 7.1 group of speakers.
Paradigm speakers in the ceiling rear and sides. Thiel Cs 1.5 fronts (re-purposed). Paradigm Studio CC/V2 center and a MiniMe Earthquake sub.
The speakers have pretty much been this way since 2001.
The gear started with an Anthem AVM20 and Anthem PVA-7. Then in 2012 I needed HDMI inputs so I switched to a Marantz AV8801. Now a couple months back the 8801 gave me problems so I picked up the Marantz NR1609 and to, my ears, it sounds better than the other two! Also the app “DeRemote” works great.
