The Klingon Language Institute will hold a free seminar on Klingon culture at the Cannes Film Festival.
"These are very entertaining, educational learning sessions," said Dr. Lawrence Schoen, Klingon Language Director. "Frequently we will have many Klingonists show up in Klingon garb -- and that makes the gathering even more special."
Founded in 1992, the KLI provides "a forum for discussion and the exchange of ideas" about Klingon culture, which is based on characters from the Star Trek films and TV series.
The meeting at the upcoming film festival will be held at Le Pavillon Croisette, 42 La Croisette, Cannes from 2-5pm. A new documentary, Earthlings: Ugly Bags of Mostly Water (a line from a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode), is being promoted there.
