IC5146,The Cocoon Nebula,The cluster is about 4,000 light years away, and the central star that lights it formed about 100,000 years ago,the nebula is about 12 arcmins across, which is equivalent to a span of 15 light years.
I took this last night whilst testing the AstroEQ again,only 1/2 hour of data on this,modified Canon 350D,ISO800,40 X 40 sec subs,20 dark subs(used to get rid of hot pixels). Focus is slightly out for some reason,will have to re-focus next time.
