Other HELP - How do i date folders so they appear in order ?

Hi All

I want to create folders and NAME them in date format so that they appear in order when i use the NAME sort, so i want the oldest at the top and newest at the bottom.

I do not want to use date created or modified.

I have googled but can not find the answer, i have tried following to test -

10.12.14, then 15.12.14 etc and it works fine BUT when i add 10.01.15 for example it goes to the top even though it's the oldest file...

Anyone advise ?

When you name folder the pc reads the name starting with the fist letter or number, it doesnt recognise them as dates.

so it would read your folder list as,

10.01.15
10.12.14
15.12.14

because 10 is lower than 15 so goes above it.

To create a folder structure in date order you have to name them back to front

year then month then date

that way they go in chronological order by name.
