Skybox F5s F5S recording capabilities

thinking of getting an F5S box, but read that you can watch one channel and record another as long as its on the same transponder, what does this mean?

The basics a transponder carries more then 1 channel therefore you can record 1 channel and watch any channel on that transponder, because you have only 1 tuner on your receiver you can only tune in on 1 transponder at a time therefore if you recording a channel on 1 transponder and the 2nd channel is on another transponder you can't watch.

so like i can watch discovery and record history ?

This is just a quick check at lyngsat so feel free to correct if anyone knows different:

History channel transponder(tp) is 28

Discovery (various) transponder(tp) is 9

Therefore the answer to your question is no.

ahh now i got it...so each transponder has their own group of channels.
