Hi guys, got a ps3 on ofw, I want to jailbreak it and run games from a usb hdd. What's the easiest way in 2023?

Long as its on firmware 4.90 or lower

You can update it to 4.90 from Here
Download the 4.90 firmware use a usb stick formatted to fat32
Make a folder named PS3 inside that make another folder UPDATE then copy the PS3UPDAT490.PUP across and then rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP
Long as its on firmware 4.90 or lower

I've got the cfwx currently formatting a.1tb hdd. Is it possible to install this as the main.ps3 hdd and transfer this to cut down on slow loading times?.thanks.mate
