DVD Problems

Can anyone tell me what I can do to get round copying VCD's onto video. I have tried copying a couple of VCD's on to tape and for some reason they record in Black & White. Also is there a disc available to allow my dvd player to be region free. Any help would honoured.

yes i would like to know the answer to this as well i have been told the reason is that the settings on the dvd and the video must both be set for pal only not auto but i have not got around to trying it yet to see if the info is correct what dvd player do you have to find if there is a hack for it ??

this is a hack surposed to work with model 5100 but i don't know if this is the model you have

1) switch on (no disc)
2) from remote control, press set-up
3) press stop (black button with white square printed on it)
4) press prev (black button with white bar and 2 arrows facing backwards)
5) press next (black button with 2 arrows facing forwards and a white bar)

On screen menu changes to engineering page and allows you to change region. another bit of info that may be worth knowing is that the scart lead supplyed may not support RGB
