Browser downloads not opening/saving

Hi all

I have a really annoying problem, which is hindering my laptop experience.

Every time I attempt to download a file, it doesn't finish downloading and stops at 99%. Although I can see it downloaded to my desktop. The downloaded file appears as a lost icon (i.e. I need to choose a program to open it with and this appears for all file types e.g. pdfs, exes etc). I have attached some examples.

Can somebody cleverer than help?

is your security software blocking it ?

disable it & download same file again see if same

I don't think it is the security software. it lets me download and the icon appears on desktop but it isn't associated with a program?

Are you using any sort of download manager?
