Comet Lovejoy brightest now until mid-January

The wonderful New Year’s comet – Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy – passed closest to Earth on January 7, 2015 and therefore (probably) now appears at its brightest in our sky. On January 7, it was 43.6 million miles away (70.2 million km). Many across the globe have already seen this comet as it has brightened in recent weeks. Plus, the moon is no longer a hindrance. More good news. The comet has been moving northward on the sky’s dome. On January 9, it crossed over into the easy-to-find constellation Taurus the Bull.

Nice clear night here, and not too cold so I've been up on the roof trying to get a photo but no joy so far. I think I may be asking a bit much of my 300mm lens, I'll borrow a range extender & see if that helps. Quite visible through a set of cheap binoculars though
