iPod Apple ipod touch 3rd gen jailbreak help

ok guys - ive never had an apple product before, dont really want one..well not yet anyway, just fixed the lcd screen om my kids ipod touch 3rd gen....so i let him keep it...just a few questions...as he is only 12 why do apple want his credit card details for the free apps ie temple run etc ?...is this a way of making money out of parents...after all kids will be kids.and will probably click on lots of paid apps..

Hi Mate to create any account in itunes you need to put card details in , just dont give it him lol that way you can make sure its only free stuff he downloads, even if it is free the app he downloads it still says your purchase so dont worry,if its defo a 3rd gen ipod then you can use the absinthe jailbreak as said the full guide is https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/286956/
