why are 99% of suppliers setting download limits i was lucky to get a 1mb connection with no limits but now supanet are offering a 2mb servive but it has a caped limit so i will stay put i think

I am sure this has got to do with trying to stop peer-2-peer or file sharing.. cannot see any other reason for it.. bloody capped limits..

im lucky with telewest no limits at the moment, but how long will it last!

Quite a few isp are doing this now. Loads of different caps etc they also seem to be blocking the ports which are used for p2p to stop heavy downloader’s
.so these heavy users and leavening the isp that are capping them and restricting there downloads and these heavy users are migrating to an uncapped isp. Which I can see in the future also having to cap or restrict there downloads to stop there service being degraded. and in the end I think all isp will end up with caps and restrictions unless you pay top doller
