Both machines are running ABGX 1.0.1 with the following settings:

Check / create .DVD
Check Stealth
Use colours

Check fro AnyDVD style corruption
Check for updates
Check game partition CRC when needed

Auto fix Level 3
Adjust 359 angle
Fix C/R table
Adjust nagles that deviate

Pal
Splitvid: leave that way it is

Yet when i run it through one it passes verification and fails CRC giving the 4 options (most likely = bad rip)

when i run it through the other machine all comes back hunky dorey???

Can you set verbosity to High, out put to text and pastebin the log?

What game / Release?

Could this be an issue with the drive that's reading the disk?

The lst drive is struggling to read the game - therefore reports bad rip

The 2nd drive can read the game fine - therefore reports everything is ok?

Not all lasers are created equal !

One drive is struggling whilst one is ok. I guess the media is marginal.

AnyDVD style corruption was not detected
Game CRC = 51755425

Game partition CRC does not match the verified ini! There are 4 possibilities:

1. This is a bad rip (the most likely cause). If you're checking a DVD backup
and have AnyDVD or a similar app installed, make absolutely sure the process is
killed! If this is a scene release, search for it on abgx.net and look at the
column "Bad CRC or Needs Fixing". If you see a <!> icon, hover over it with
your mouse to read the alt text. If it says something like "Bad game data CRC"
or gives the name of a fix (PPF patch), we already know about it. It's also
highly recommended to run abgx360 again with AutoFix set to level 3 if you
applied a PPF to make sure stealth files haven't been corrupted. See "What is
AnyDVD style corruption?" in the GUI Quickstart tab for more info on game data
corruption.

2. Your CPU/RAM/HDD/data bus is unstable and corrupted the data during
extraction/burning or while checking the CRC. Make sure to run the sfv and try
extracting it again (assuming you have the sfv/rars) and recheck the ISO/DVD to
see if you get the same CRC.

3. Game data was intentionally modified for some reason. Microsoft does not
take kindly to modifications for any purpose, and even benign changes to game
data or settings will get you banned from Xbox Live!

4. The verified Game CRC in the database is wrong (very unlikely).

Stealth was verified but game data wasn't

Game CRC is different, afaik, that can not be the same rip.

I see there in different directorsy.

Are they 2 different ISOs?

One could of been corrupted when moving ect.

yeah interesting.

how did you get that 2nd copy of the file tho - transfer by usb stick, external hard drive, copying thru the ethernet etc? If it was from hd to hd then was one drive Fat32 at all? If by a usb stick/external HD did you choose the 'safely remove hardware' after it finished copying it over etc

Yeah it was an external USB HDD.

It is definately the same ISO, one is on the HDD of a laptop which verifies fine, the other gives the CRC fail no matter how you transfer it, HDD, over network etc.

It's not a massive problem I'm just really curious why it passes on one and fails on the other.

I never select disconnect safely, I appreciate there are times when this causes the HDD problems but I seem to find them few and far between, touch wood, for the 85 steps it takes to disconnect a USB safely.

Pretty sure the HDD is in NTSF, well it must be as the file is 1 x 8GB ISO not 2 X 4GB.

I really appreaicte folk having a look and giving their input, it's one of those puzzling things that bugs me.

fair point about it being a 7gb file so must be ntfs :)

Strange though - I take it the one thats giving errors is still the copied copy if you know what I mean, and the one that verifies fine is the master copy?

Quite concerning to what the issue is, seeing as after recently modding my 2nd box (first banned) going through all the games (v time consuming reading from dvd each time) right now checking for 100% validity and marking them off before I consider playing them......there was a game Fifa 09 where I was sure (reading from disc) that the first time it verified 100% but the 2nd time it could not find the match in database message.

.

Yup the master so to speak verifies OK the copy I have now put through 2 other machines with no luck, even if I copy it over again, same thing.

I'm leaning towards a corruption in the copying or the PCs are having problems reading the HDD, maybe it needs a format or something but I would agree, to me at least, it's very odd.

Yep a few Wright errors when copying will give CRC errors.

Which is why you should use the verify option in IMGBurn :)
