.264 hd video with PS3

What's the quickest and easiest way to play downloaded HD .264 videos via USB stick on Ps3?

convert the mkv with mkv2vob and you should be good to go.

Yup convert to .M2TS in MKV2VOB - takes less than 5 mins on a half decent setup. Will take an age on ancient PC's but then so does absolutely everything on them lol.

Just don't forget to tick 'always decode DTS' if you don't have a DTS decoder, otherwise you'll get no audio.

Does anyone thing we'll ever get some decent HD codecs on either the PS3 or Xbox?

I honestly thought both machines would handle them natively by now.
