Hi,
Think this is probably the relevant place to post.
It appears that the starview 6 is no longer available in this country and they are now shipping out starview 7. If the rumours are to believed there was some question as to the use of the 6 with the ethernet port and they have been getting stopped at customs. New 7 version uses the rs232 port with an adaptor. It also uses a new version of carling 1.02. It is programmed pretty much the same way (well exactly the same way) and works, just did two today.

If you have a shop around then I think there are a couple of companies including the wireless dongle which makes it a bit easier.
Don't know if it was just me......
The company I used shipped a mini rs232 male - female cable to go between the box and the converter. Which i didn't use at first. But the box didn't seem to work, I presume that it is some kind of crossover cable to get the pins the right way around.
Also in the menu there is an rs232 section which is there to allow a direct dump from one box to another. Again not sure if it was just me but i had to go into this menu and highlight the rs232 Stb -> stb option and turn the box off and back on again before it worked.
Think that's right.
For the people who seem to like to kick the starview, the kryptview box is half again as expensive as the starview. Not saying the starview doesn't have it's faults but at the end of the day it's a budget box. You get what you pay for.
Mods, have added a link to a file outside of Digitalworldz as per (to my knowledge) the rules. If this contravenes any then please remove the link or delete the whole post.
Thanks
