Hi,

BT Sport 1 and 2 HD is pretty weak and the signal strength varies, I find it getting weaker and evening and nights :)

On BBC1 I get SNR 100% AGC 99% BER 0
On BT Sport 1/2 I get SNR 37% AGC 86% BER ~11.000-23.000
On BT Sport 1/2 HD I get SNR 0% AGC 86% BER 1024

What would guys try to change first, the LNB or the dish?

Reg,

It depends on what size your existing dish is, age of LNB and the quality of the installation.

Personally I would try the free & cheap options first: Check dish alignment & LNB skew (free)- if the LNB is more than 2 or 3 years old, change it- and check no moisture has infiltrated the F-connector while you're there, and if none of that cure it, consider a bigger dish. Do you know anyone else who can receive those channels 24/7?

These channels should be absolutely booming in as they are on the 2F satellite sounds very much like Dish alignment and worth checking the frequency as well

I have a sat finding meter , itf its of any help to you m8...

i am in IOM

... doah - just read that you are in Europe....aplogies

The BBC channels are on the 1N UK spot beam and BT Sport is on the 2F UK spot beam but both have a very similar coverage and should be coming in at around the same power

1N's 'UK' beam isn't exactly narrow, we get it here 90+% on 80cm, 2F UK on the other hand is not receivable at all (well, on a 4M anyway!) so it may not be all that strong in Iceland- even people in N. Scotland reported some difficulties last year.

As with any Report you only have other users from different country's input as well as the proposed so called footprint maps as we all know are not reliable at all and so that is what i based my answer on Footprint maps.

So the reports of someone who lives in the Algarve cannot be taken into account as mine wont either being in the UK, weather conditions and equipment used are always major factors as well

Browsing around some reports for Iceland have come in with dish size ranges from 80cm upwards for decent reception

Thanks I'm gona check the dish alignment and LNB skew and report back.
What is the expected lifetime for a quality LNB that has not been exposed to water or any damage?
