On Mikrotiks there is technique called MetaROUTER which may be used to install another operating system for router. I was using OpenWRT as a guest OS, but I thing that DD-WRT may be installed on the host. But I'm not sure. It's a method to test DD-WRT and its functions without flashing the router.

I used to use Comodo Antivirus + Firewall (on Windows XP and later Vista), now I have only Windows Defender (on two computers with Windows 10). Two irritating things: 1. Windows Update notifications almost everyday. 2. Defender may impact speed of files copying,particularly the small ones.

I'm using Mikrotik RB951G: RouterBoard.com : RB951G-2HnD It can handle about 15-20Mbps of aes-128-encrypted IPsec. It's obviously far worse than Cisco ISR-s but it costs only approx $60 (in Poland).
