dreambox on your 360 [TUT HERE]

Chaps,

been messing with media center on the 360 and have finally got my dream box to stream to it ! it's pretty cool....so thought I'd share it, not sure if this should go into the dream box section but any way here goes.

here's a link that i followed and it works really well, so now i can stream the dream box to the 360's around the place.!

DVBLogic - provider of digital streaming connectivity solutions

make sure that you first of all can get to the web page of the dream box and that everything is working.

then download the following file....

If you have a Dream box
DVBLink for Dream box

it's important to follow the instructions clearly so make sure that after you install DVBLinkServer.msi you restart and then install DVBLinkForDB.msi


i didn't and it caused major issues !

then follow the tut and away you go... (there's an important bit where you have to leave windows media center running when you run one of the commands !) so read it and then read it again.

now then mate, am i right in thinking i can use my media center remote to control this? so i can get around not having a front panel on my box when im home? if so il be paying you a visit in the new year as i can garantee it wont work on my shit haha
Can i do it just pc to dm with out the xbox aswell? that would be better tbh

Hi mate, yeah that's correct, you can use your remote (that's if you've been able to use it to control media center in the 1st place)

That screen shot is a shot from my pc with media center but it's exactly the same as that on the xbox 360 it's self

cheers mate for this! managed to get it all sorted. is there anyway around having to pay for the program after the 20 day trail, once again top man!

haven't had a look for a crack yet for it matey, but i think it's only a few quid or something well worth it (and believe me i'm not a one to pay for anything!...lol) i managed to get EPG working ok is yours all sorted? and good work on getting it going! :Clap:

But you don't tell people about the non existant support from dvblink, or that this method only works on a handful of images, and extremely old images.

On the dm500s its pretty good and will work with most images.

As for the dm800 its terrible, ive tried 12 different images over the past year and only pli jade 2 or gemini 4.2 works, which are very old.

And don't bother try ask for help on their forums, they will not support there 30 euro product, so I hope someone does hack it.

i use dvblink with nabilosat 11 or 12 i cant remember at the moment mate and it works perfect no problems at all, i didnt see it mentioned but when the trial on dvblink runs out uninstall and reinstall and you will start the trial again.

i know this dont help much mate but i maybe able to help you tomorrow if i get round to installing it as i said above ive installed it before i need to reinstall so if your still struggling ill get on msn if thats any use, give me a pm tomorrow mate and ill try squeeze it in im in the middle of a revamp setting up a new server, media center seems to be taking for ever.

ive got it so that media center recognises the dvb link, but says i have four tuners. drops the epg in and when i chancge channel changes it on the box but still no pic?arrrgh

on the xbox this is? you don't change channel on the box mate you do it in windows media center on the 360?
