TiVo coming to VM

Hasn't this been out for many years. A system that analyses what you are watching and records programms that it thinks you would want to watch.

When I had Sky installed the engineer said that Sky Anytime would eventually do the same sort of thing.

Lots of things had been out for many years, before VM finally woke up. In terms of functionality, this woul... this could be a quantum leap for VM's platform.

Aaaah, installers and their promises, eh? :)

that wont be good if it analysis what you watch then records what it think you will like
it will be full of porn

Or House Doctor and Romantic dribble if it is scanning on behalf of the wife.

Is it true that you can type in words like a actor or place name and it will automaticaly record anything with the words in even if its not in the programe title ?

VM have not even confirmed what form their Tivo implementation will take, but there's no reason why keyword recording shouldn't be possible, although the word would obviously have to be included somewhere in the description. Meaning, if you type in New York, there's a good chance you would get at least CSI:NY, 30 Rock and Friends, but not necessarily any movies or shows in which NY might feature, but isn't mentioned in the description.

Everything is guesswork at the moment, though.

just did an online survey on this box and grabbed some pics
