i'd been trying to reenocde video files to play on my TM600 for awhile with no luck, but lorrebreaker just posted a .bat in another thread.

Just tested it and it changed the bitrate slightly now works perfectly with my TM600 from USB stick and a mounted dir over network.

It should work with basically all video files or anything that VLC can play... :p

Install VLC.

open txt editor and paste
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.
then saves as a .bat file e.g File > Save as.. > ts.bat

then just find file you want to reencode for playback and click then drag and drop it onto the .bat file.

VLC window should then open but not show any video, counter in bottom right will show it working though, leave that window open until it's finishe.

the reencoded file ready for playback should be in same folder as original file and be the same name as video you started with, but .ts extension. it will be about 1.5GB per hour.

now just put this somewhere you can open on your Box e.g mounted dir or USB drive on TM600's.

not sure about TM500's or other Box's but on a TM600 just open it like you would any recording from the File List.

p.s
if you have any problems with video glitching put a lower number in the .bat where it says "vb=2600" e.g "vb=2100" you want it as high as possible as you will loose quality.
