Found elsewhere , great new tool

"Wiiscrubber 1.0a - PC application. Required files included.

It allows you to:
1. open up the WII iso's and extract individual files from them,
2. Change the iso so that unused areas are overwritten with 0xFFs. This has the effect of then making the ISO compressable.

The size of the ISO file remains unchanged, but it allows the ISO to be compressed to a much smaller size with programs such as WinRAR.

This means that most Wii games can now be distributed as torrents of much less than 4.5GB. Resulting in faster downloads and easier storage.

To play the games, they still have to be extracted and burnt to DVD just the same as any other ISO. It's only the size of the torrent/archive that is decreased, not the actual disc image, so don't get your hopes up about multi-game discs yet.

Much thanks and respect to Dack of GBATemp for developing this wonderful tool."

This tool is great, alot of the new games on newsgroups are now compressed using WiiSrubber - Just downloaded a wii game in 6 min and worked fine.

I hope this catches on, I've seen:

Excite_Truck_PAL(compress) = 832MB
WiiChess(compress) = 468MB
Super_Fruit_Fall_PAL(compress) = 298MB
Game party(compress) = 618MB

and all work well and saved a lot of DL time.

Long live (compress) :)

Clive.

no it won't let you back-up originals.

and it is me who has been removing your posts as they are clocking posts and uneeded where posted.

i'll let this one slip, but others may not

and ive been avoiding these games as the size for download wasnt roight lol, aint i a nob

im off to abuse my newsgroups account now :proud:

well as i`ve had nothing to do today, i`ve been making space on hdd
saved myself 160 gig so far :)

nice tool, but i hope nintendoh don`t do a firmware update to check the free space for certain bytes as that would put a damper on things.

regards
jase
