Plug the phone into your PC and run Nokia software updater program, it will detect what firmware you have and what's available if any, you may need to de brand the phone aswell

lol at highlanders n95 barcode lol..... present from someone was it?

i only had fw version 10.0 on mine updated successfully to 11.0.26 , i have downloaded version 12.0.0.13 nokia updater (by the code monkey posted) but only gives me 2 options to remove or repair , if i want to use the later fw do i just remove 11.0.26 and install 12.0.013 any body got any ideas as fw can be dodgey

when i updated to 11.0.26 and used it for a couple weeks.

then out of the blue, i thought i'd check for any updates.

there was.

let it do it's update (after i backed up memory to card) and all is well.

it never asked me to remove or repair.

Backup your contacts, texts and multimedia (mp3s, videos, pics etc) to your sim/memory card/PC.

Download and install the nemisis software (NSS) from the link in this post: http://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=129569 (scroll to the bottom of the nemisis page and click the small ziped archive icon).

Connect the N95 to your PC via USB, and tell NSS to detect phone (its the right button of the only 2 options when it first loads). Go to 'phone info' (second from left), and tell it to 'read'.

If the product code is not the one listed for your colour phone in MONKey's post above then you need to change it.

Overtype the product code, using the correct code for the colour of your phone (i.e.0534841 - For the Sand N95, 0536062 - For the Plum N95), and check the tick box to the right of the product code text box.

Click write and wait. Check that the product code has been changed by re-reading the phone.

With your now standard product code, run the nokia software updater, this should update your phone to the unbranded v12 f/w.

Reload your contacts etc.

(If you want I can do a screen shot version when I get home from work).

Debranding and updating f/w shouldn't affect the memory card, it will erase any info stored on the phone however (e.g. contacts, texts etc), but yes take the memory card out if you want to be safe than sorry.

Thanks,

Darren

I have edited my post to include images.
