I wouldn't recommend buying a 'cheap' acoustic, buy an electric and learn with that, I spend about £50 on my first guitar which included a (terrible) 10W electric amp from ebuyer about 10 years ago. It was fine for a few months and allowed me to see if I liked to play.

The reason I suggest an electric is that strings on an acoustic are normally much thicker which will makes it difficult to play as a beginner; and will quickly put you off.

Also, I'd recommend you try Justin Guitar | Free Guitar Lessons for introductory video lessons; or if you're interested in video games, get hold of Rocksmith for the PC or console - which allows you to plug your real guitar into your console / PC, practise and learn some tunes.Iv always wanted to learn to play guitar, I used to have guitar hero for Xbox and took to it like a duck to water, I might invest in a cheap acoustic see if I like it
I remember a friend saying an acoustic would toughing your fingers up, I did think elec so I could use earphones I'll have a look about about, I see apps, videos all the time so I'm sure I won't be stuck for tips,
That's what I'll look for electric with a small amp
My friend gave me a guitar as a gift, but I don't know how to play. So how could I learn to play it myself?
Thanks for your suggestion, miggy:eatarrow:
But I think it would be much harder for me to learn play, because I can not even read a music score:grayno:
