First off I've been a member on Digitalworldz since i can remember but lost my old login details along with the email, so got me a fresh account ;-)

Got a few questions regarding Sly sharing, just for small number of family and friends.

I've been using cs servers since nagra 3 hit and would like to start my own (not for profit)

I've read a thread on here that using the sly card in a dreambox is the easiest route to setup a server for a small group of people.

I havent had a sly subscription for about 6 years and looking to take out there world package + 1 multiroom.

1st question

If i take + 1 multiroom do they give me another card for that box? So if i was to setup a server, i could use 1 card in the dreambox and 1 in the sly box downstairs for example? cause ive been using a dreambox for so long i miss all the perks you get with original sky, like on demand, record and rewind etc.

If i was to use a dm500s as the server, would i still be able to view HD channels on the other connected boxes dm800hd etc? (not sure if this is an obvious question but hey ho)

Does the server/box need to have a satellite feed when acting as a server? Can it just be plugged into router and sat in a cupboard for example?

I tried searching for threads regarding these question but not much luck, sorry if its repeated.

Thanks

Yes..with the DM500 as a server ..you can view HD channels on any other HD recievers you use as clients, the servers just sending the clients decrypted keys when the clients request them for a partiuluar channel. You can use a multitude of devices with card readers as servers..e.g: laptop, desktop PC, Raspberry PI, etc etc. So it doesnt matter if the server is even a satellite reciever.

You do not need a sat feed to the server, so yes you can stick it in a cupbaord with the router.

Big problem for me when I first started testing running a server was I kept forgetting to put my sly card in the original receiver to update and it kept dying.

So when you start testing your home server if using Oscam make sure you read some posts on updating your card through a mgcamd client which is the best option I think, Or using a Cccam share/client to send emms back to your card. This way you wont have to keep taking your subscription card out the DM500 and put it in to your sly box to update.

Cccam will not open all the channels on your card but it will open 98 %

Oscam reads the card 100% and is much more sufficient so it's worth the hassle learning.

Ccam client with an n line also works fine for sending updates back to server running oscam. It's rather crap not having au setup, too much hassle having to update card in the original receiver..

Good tip that gsmtech never new a n line worked to update as well I always tried the method of putting it in the F: line with { 1 1 3 } and them doing the same etc etc cheers :eek:)

I find its best to have a Satellite feed on the server as it will update the card reliably there is pretty good guides on here I have been using my 500S god knows how long and never taken the card out.

Probably also wise to have 1 card as you start having to have multiple phone lines connected to boxes with the obvious checks this sometimes gets.

All depends how many feeds you have I suppose in the end.

Thanks for quick replys guys,

So if i was to get an extra box installed in the bedroom on multiroom, can i use that card from the mutliroom box for the server so i can still use legit sky in the living room?

I had a few doubts in this because if that worked then 1 family could take mutliroom with 2 boxes, and give the multiroom card to a relative and he/she gets sly for free?

Yes you can not a problem !!! And I used to lend a old work mate my multi room box so thats ok aswell

I had sly installed last week with multiroom.

currently got my multiroom card in my dreambox 800hd and its working fine, think ive sorted the share out too but need another box to test.

I read that if the multiroom card doesnt stay in the sly box i will get charged twice for the sky sub instead of the £10.50 a month.

Im using cccam 2.1.3 which i read that it updates the card but obviously its not the full check via the phone line? Is it best to remove the card from the dbox and put back in the slybox for 10mins every 2weeks or so?

This is bollox total crap mate dont worry about it one bit it.

And as for updating your card you can just leave it over night in the original sub box about a week before your entitlements are due to run out, or the best bet is to use Mgcamd or a N: line on your client box, there's a few methods to update your card just google it there's plenty info about.

Personally I found Oscam to read my card, and a Mgcamd client to update the card was the best method, Cccam does not read your card very well I remember I was missing pick tv and a few HD others had problems but Oscam was 100% and better ecm.

It's worth learning about oscam it's pretty easy once you have a good read on it ?

Here is a working config for UK a box with internal reader updates work fine its a good start then you can add a service list anti-cascading etc you really should have a look at the Oscam forum to explore what you can do with it, rather then just fill in the blanks.

Oscam.server

[reader]
label = sLyuk
protocol = internal
enable = 1
device = /dev/sci0
caid = 0963
boxid = xxxxxxxx ( not needed as oscam can read boxid )
detect = cd
mhz = 600
cardmhz = 600
ident = 0963:000000
group = 1
emmcache = 1,3,2
blockemm-g = 1
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 0
blockemm-s = 0
lb_weight = 101
ecmwhitelist = 0963@000000:3E,4F,42,44,45,47,4E,53,54,56,61,67,62 ,68,69,6A,6B,6E,6D,6F,71,72,73,77,78,74,79,7A,7C,7 D,7E,80,8B,85

Oscam.conf

[global]
logfile = /var/local/oscam.log
cachedelay = 120
nice = -1
maxlogsize = 0
saveinithistory = 1

[newcamd]
port = 15500@0963:000000
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
keepalive = 1

[webif]
httpport = 15000
httpuser = user
httppwd = password
httprefresh = 10
httpallowed = 127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255

Oscam.user

[account]
user = user
pwd = pass
uniq = 2
monlevel = 1
caid = 0963
ident = 0963:000000
group = 1
au = sLyuk
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-g = 1
blockemm-u = 0
blockemm-s = 0

If also using oscam put this line in your CCcam.cfg

N: 127.0.0.1 15500 user pass 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 256

Here is some anti-cascading info to stop clients/friends hammering your card.

This is a quick HOW-TO for those who want to protect your local card after the recent rise of card fakers/stealers.

OScam users can take C-line that you have given to them and put it directly to OScam thus bypassing any reshare limits you set in CCcam.

They can also go one step further and fake your local with the 256 trick in CCcam versions prior to 2.1.4 (2.1.3,2.0.11, etc.)!!

What you need to use is Anticascading!

If you have a peer who is doing re-sharing/faking do the following:

Create a file oscam.ac and put in these lines:

1702:000000 = 10 # interval 10 seconds for provider
1833:000401 = 10 # interval 10 seconds for provider 1833
093B:000000 = 10 # interval 10 seconds for provider 093b
0963:000000 = 10 # interval 10 seconds for provider 0963
0500:000000 = 10 # interval 10 seconds for Viaccess cards

*=7 # interval 7 seconds for all others providers...

In your oscam.conf add following lines:

[anticasc]
enabled = 1
numusers = 1 #1 user is allowed. If oscam detects more then 1 request within 10 Seconds from same user cascading is detected.
sampletime = 2
samples = 10
penalty = 0
aclogfile = /tmp/oscam_ac.log #important, because you will be able to see, what is OScam doing.
denysamples = 10 or 9
fakedelay = 4000 or 2500

In oscam.user, for each guilty user add:

penalty = 1

Hi mate, been playing with oscam and having a good read on the forum.

Im using a dm800 as a server with oscam/cccam213 and channels are clearing fine when using n: 127.0.0.1 etc but when i put my dyndns in the cccam.cfg its not clearing and showing up as offline on the cccam info.

I think maybe its something to do with the port?

Is there anything in these configs that seems wrong?

box has dhcp turned off and ip is 192.168.0.150

Am i correct in thinking when forwarding ports you use the box ip on the routers port forward page?

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

What are you trying to achieve by using your DNS address?

N: 127.0.0.1 etc etc is the correct way when connecting Oscam/CCcam,don't forget its just an internal connection

Yes you use the boxes IP when forwarding ports :)

Dont worry, all sorted.. got my external share working now :D

Thanks for replys guys.

Is there any setting in oscam to tweak to lower my ECM? I read that using oscam you will get lower ECMs but this isnt the case for me..

I was using cccam and getting 0.080 - 0.110, but now using oscam getting 0.120 - 0.180

Those are still good ecm's mate I wouldn't worry :)

Also as for sharing a multi room card, I know some members have said don't worry about it being connected but it would still be an idea to put the card in the official reciever and doing a forced callback from time to time as sky do actually check. Maybe not as often as they'd like you to believe but it can happen!

Thanks for reply,

What do you mean by forced callback? Id prefer to do this for peace of mind.

I've Found out how to do force callback, thanks for the idea.

Another question

Would a dm800 be better than a dm500 server wise? as the dm800 has a slightly faster CPU? Even though its got a faster CPU it doesnt feel as fast as the dm500 running a maxvar image.

Think i may give it a try and sell the dm800 to a family member..

your thoughts?
