I have bought some dvdr's and after burning some show a screen saying "to play this disc put it in a xbox 360 console" in several different languages. This is also happening on discs that have worked previously.

Is this a media issue or an image problem?

try pulling the plug for a couple minutes, then reboot the ones that played previously.
maybe your new disks have "confused" the 360

firstly u have burned to dvd

can you say what it is, move game or what

please say the full release name of the game(i think its a game and wrong region)

we can enlighten you further

my mate bought an xbox 360 second hand of fleabay and before he is was going to get it modded i tried a copy in it to make sure it already wasnt and it says the same thing

im lost ? is it in your xbox u get this and if its a game u need a dvd dl disc not a dvd r one ?

I've had this before, I usually get it if i try and load a bad backup, like the OP said if I immediately try an known working backup, it too will give me the 'To play this disc..." message until I hard reset the machine.

Sorry. I use dl dvd+r's. The games are

Assassins.Creed.PAL.X360-Allstar
Crackdown.Stealthpatched.Region.Free-ZaZa
slv-fnr3-pal-x360 (fight night round 3)
Halo_3_XBOX360-CCCLX

Yes used dvd file with clone cd.

I'm thinking it's a combination of these new disks being sh*t and the hard reset idea. Two of the ones that played previously that then wouldn't seem to be back after re-booting box.

Other than verbs, what are a reasonable budget disc to use? What dye should I look for?

These new ones I used were cmc dye.

I use cheap shite, whatever is the cheapest at SVP on the day :)

Usually I'm burning Aones or Fortis discs on a Pioneer 112, very very rarely do i produce a coaster.

I burn using ImgBurn or CloneCD, I never use Nero coz it's bloatware.

A pioneer burner is recommended ,Aone disks are cheap and most peeps have success with them.ive also tried ridisk make with varied success.
i normally use imgburn but its only my personal preference,it may be worth a go with different combinations until you find the best match.

I'm now questioning my older game images. Never used them before and I've never used dvdmulleter before. When I load image into mulleter, it says everything is present but the ixtreme compatable box is not ticked. why is this?

older images are not made up like they are now so dont pass the the Ixtreme test so they would only work on a console that was flashed with xtreme
