Virgin Media released their smartcall app for Android & iphone last night.
If allows you to use the inclusiive minutes from your landline on your mobile over wifi
Could be very useful particularly when abroad as it will eliminate roaming charges (if you can get a decent wifi signal)
Or if you have a mobile plan that doesn't have many minutes you can use the app to make landline calls and save your minutes solely for mobile calls.

It's on the play market now, tried it last night and was surprised at the call quality, it was excellent.

Should also point out that you don't need to be a virgin media mobile customer, this should work with any apple/android phone registered to any network. It does need a phone number on the device so I don't think it will work with tablets but you could try registering your tablet with mobile phone details. Limit of 2 mobile numbers per landline number.

Guess it can be used to call 0800 number from your mobile and you wont be charged?

That's correct, it also tells you if the call is included in your inclusive landline minutes and it also warns you (with a beep) when you are about to hit the 60 minute mark & will disconnect you at the 60 minute call mark so you don't get charged.

Good point, didn't think about the 0800 number problem from mobiles.
