In my “I like Wood” thread I talked about Bob Brines Mass Loaded Transmission-Line, single driver, speakers. Or "Quarter Wave"..... don't ask me.
I put it in the title because someone is bound to be smart enough.
These are the cases and the plans (less the cut sheet.) for building them. Bob got out of the business of selling speaker plans so I think I’m ok posting the front sheet. If you want to build a pair please PayPal Bob $25 and I’ll send you the complete plans. I’ll annotate the photos below to give you some idea of the process. Although a lot of the pictures show 3/4” plywood with a re-sawn face, I ended up using solid 4/4 quilted maple hardwood.
4/4 Quilted Maple Stock
Festool MFS400 guid and OF1400 router. The router is fixed with a center ring that fits into the MFS circle. A pin is drilled for the jig to
pivot while the router cuts the circle.
Cut stock and braces.
Festool Domino Mortise machine. Greatest assembly tool ever.
Re-saw maple on the bandsaw
Carcass assembled with dominos and tite-bond glue.
Re-sawn 1/4" Maple veneer
Tuning up an edge.
