Oh No !!!! Mate updated softmodded wii !!!!

Hi

My mate just text me saying his boy updated his softmodded 4.2e wii to 4.3e and now none of the games work of the HDD ?

I softmodded this for him last year, he says the homebrew channel is still there ??

Can i just do a 4.3e softmod on it ?

Created files using mac addy and that site, extracted them and put all the files on SD card. Opened the envelope in messages and nothing at all happens ?

Rebooted wii and it showed.
