Hey Guys,
got myself a Samsung R510 laptop with about a dozen keys not working - most of the numbers, both ctrl, caps lock, tab ' ] q a and some others.

I've tried pulling a couple of the keys out, have cleaned underneath with no joy.
To eliminate the potential for a software problem i even tried typing with these keys in the BIOS upon booting and it didn't work there either.

unscrewed the keyboard and checked ribbon is fitted in securely too, and it is.

Out of ideas now,
hoping you guys can help me get to the bottom of this,

Crazy

cheers for the replys fellas.
even when i lift the keys off, the rubber button underneath can be pressed, but it doesn't do anything...

do you think cleaning it with alcohol will help?

Are you sure the sticky keys are not activated, try pressing the shift key five times vary fast and a window should pop up to turn it off.

sticky keys are definately turned off.
i find it a bit strage that the disfunctional keys are all situated in clusters eg. caps, tab, q, a
