help with codes please

can some one please point me in the right direction. i have a second hand box and this and next months codes. i have followed the appropriate steps but i can seem to get any stations. could it be that because the box is second hand it has been switched off by the provider, or is that not possible. thanx..

you dont say what type of card your useing or any other details. you should still get all the fta channels
ie:bbc1/bbc2 ect even without a card in though. try posting more infomation
