The long awaited “Cloud” Online Storage feature is now possible on the PS3 as the new 3.60 firmware is now available.

The Cloud Online Storage allows subscribers of the PlayStation Plus to use the server online to back up their data and access it at any PS3 by logging into the PlayStation Network account.

After downloading PS3 System Software Update 3.60, Plus members will have access to 150MB of space and will be able to store up to 1000 PS3 game saves.

To do so, simply highlight the game save you want to store in the [Saved Data Utility (PS3)], press the triangle button to bring up the options, select “copy” and then select “Online Storage” as the destination. In turn, you can access your Online Storage list via [Saved Data Utility (PS3)] when signed into PlayStation Network on a friend’s PS3 and download your stored game saves to carry on your game from where you left off.

If the developer has chosen to implement copy protection on their game saves, you can still copy those files to Online Storage but there will be a 24 hour period, after each save, before you can then download them on any PS3.

If your PlayStation Plus subscription expires then you will no longer be able to access Online Storage until you renew your subscription. However, any game saves stored will be kept for six months and you will be able to access them as before when you renew the subscription, as long as you do so within that six month period.

There's probably a few more extra bits in it as well if you know what I mean ;-)
Banhammer coming or we will be paying to play pretty soon as well.

Ohh its a whole new number lol. I wonder if we'll still be able to boot new games on 3.55 I have a sneaky feeling Sony will be tying to stop that with this firmware.

what we need is a nice Dev to get inside the firmware and tell us what's lurking :)

Cloud storage , contoller auto switchoff and lots of hacking stuff removed by the looks of it

PlayStation Plus subscribers can now backup their save files via Cloud online storage, which allows users to store up to 150MB of save data or 1,000 save files (whichever comes first).
The PS3 Firmware 3.60 update also allows users to select a timer for their PlayStation 3 controllers through the addition of a new menu option to set the amount of time before the PS3 controller powers off due to inactivity.

According to PS3 hacker Youness Alaoui (KaKaRoToKS) on Twitter, Sony removed all the loaders in the PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.60 update as well. Below are some relevant Tweets, as follows:

Wow, in 3.60, Sony removed all the loaders, no more isoldr/lv1ldr/lv2ldr/appldr.. but they added lv0.2! Seems they found a way to secure PS3.

We already have the metldr key, the thing is that they don't use metldr anymore, at all!

They can't update or remove it, but very surprisingly, they just bypassed it, it's there but unused..

Humm, looks like lv0.2 is just the SCE header of lv0, just like the spkg, it doesn't contain code in itself... just resigned with securely..

Nope, no sarcasm.. of course, nothing is secure, but the flaws they had before seem to all be fixed. at least at first glance..

For now, it looks to me (at first glance) that the ps3 has been resecured, but it doesn't mean it can't be broken again from scratch..
