opkg update
Then rtmp and then IPTV plugin
Were getting a bit deep here might be worth taking a backup of you image before doing so.

Still no joy mate- it downloaded/installed updates but when I tried to install rtmp it failed with the same error (please see below). Do you think I should reinstall the image and start from scratch? I read somewhere that I may need to install TSpanel?

I know that the tsmedia panel includes the gstreamer package and possibly the tspanel.
I may help installing those.
Ill see if I can find the gstreamer package as a stand alone ipk before you go to the effort of a new image.
Heres the gsstreamer ipk you nee mate
Install this then the rtmp and then the IPTV plugin
If this does not work for you ill have a play around with this myself if I can find my sim2 sim card.

You've tried your best to help but WE will NOT be defeated! It's all about working together and learning. I bl00dy don't even need IPTV - just wana see it working once
I'm reinstalling the image now. I've gone for the forum favorite (openpli-2.1-beta-dm800se) again. Will try installing the iptv plugin again and see what happens. Will keep you posted.
Worth a try id install tsmedia too I know that has the streaming dependencies because that's its main task.

Installed TSpanel and TSmedia and it's working fine - TSmedia looks interesting - lots of goodies and things to do in spare time

No mate ill take a look for you when wifes done with TV, she in soap mode at the mo so ive no chance lol
Obviously anything you don't like you can get rid of.
Tsmedia is a plugin gui that brings lats of IPTV type application in one place is quite good similar to mediaportal which is a favourite of mine.

tempting.com - ohh f it I'm gona try it now! Waiting for the the box to become available Unzipped the backup file is almost 60MB - not much space for anything else but i guess this image has EVERYTHING anyone needs
