Debian Server + VMware + CCcam

to tell u the truth
i have my server hooked up to my home network sharing my modem

all i did was use 1 of my dm500s client box that i have in 1 room to update ip address with inadyn every 5 hours

u dont have to have it on server unless ur running server in a different house or on a seperate modem

if its running on ur own network just use 1 of ur boxs to update ip

how do you set ur box to update ip. I have got dm500s connected to my home netowrk.

if ur running gemini image
press blue button
then services / addons
and u will see it in there inadyn
or download it via blue button from a server

simple

or if u got a pc that u use daily then u can put a updater on that
or u can put it on ur router too

i currently have dm500s updating every few hours
and my router updates it once a day

just dont set it to update every 5 mins as that might get ur dns account blocked for too much traffic

Hi

still trying to figure out how get inadyn to work on debian server. My error log is showing as follows:-

INADYN: Started 'INADYN version 1.96' - dynamic DNS updater.
INADYN:IP: Error '0x0' resolving host name 'checkip.dyndns.org'
W: DYNDNS: Error 'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) when talking to IP server
W:'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) updating the IPs. (it 0)

My Inadyn.conf file looks like the following

--username xxxxxx
--password xxxxxxx
update_period 300
alias xxxxx.dyndns.org
--log_file /var/log/dyndns.log

Any ideas why is not connecting. I can ping my dns name and no packets are lost all recieved from windows PC and debian server. When testing my CCcam file. This is in Home network. In CCcam.cfg for client instaed of entering IP i entered xxxx.dydns.org. It did not work. Does it need to be tested from outside network. I have just tested from outside network and pinging to my dyndns adress is o.k

Thanks
