Cardsharing on technomate 6900 6800 super with SSSP and 8281

Well I found a server and managed to connect and yes it works fine. I'm still wary of conecting to a server I know nothing about so until I know more I'm going to be cautious.

lol not worried about a server, just the data collected from me by an unknown.

Updated firmware on TM6900 and get the LAN Sharing menu using 8281, however when I press the yellow button to connect....nothing!!

Not sure where i'm going wrong here. Do I need to enter/change something in the system settings or into the LAN Sharing screen before I can get it to connect to my router?

Really appreciate any help.

Thanks

you need to enter the relevant details for the server youre trying to connect to as on page 1 of this thread m8

if the server is setup properly, and the correct details entered into the LAN menu then the CAID is sent by the viewing card when its asked by the receiver for the keys to decode the channels and everything will work

if everything is entered correctly in the LAN menu, then its possible that the server is no longer active

what channels are you trying to decode m8?

Got it all hooked up and talking to my router. Just need to find a test server now that actually works

wow, some one at last to get it to work, but....please for the love of god...how?

its been working here since the release of the patch m8, see page 1 of this thread for screenshot

Yes, many have it working, its not a problem with the firmware. The reason for most failures seem to be-
The server you are connecting to is not working
The server you are connecting to ends in .tv
The details have been entered incorrectly on-screen

Other possible reasons could be LAN related problems, more pc based. Like the internal ip address of router, ip address assigned by dhcp, cable problems, etc. These problems will have to be worked out individually by diagnosis. Supply details and members here can help.

Does any body know why servers ending with .tv are not working?

There is a simple solution if the address of the server is not accepted into the secret menu of the TM-6900 Super. Use the IP address instead.

To find the IP address of a server:

Open up a DOS command window. You can do this by pressing the Windows key+R on your keyboard then typing CMD and click on OK.

Find the name of your server i.e. errifi.no-ip.org

In the DOS box type:

Ping server where server is the long name i.e. cshare.nochance.tv (obviously made up here )

You should now see a list underneath the command you typed like this

ping cshare.nochance.tv

Pinging cshare.nochance.tv [123.456.789.69] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 196.206.203.85: bytes=32 time=105ms TTL=55
Reply from 196.206.203.85: bytes=32 time=95ms TTL=55

Ping statistics for 123.456.789.69:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 95ms, Maximum = 105ms, Average = 98ms

As you can see from the first line, the IP address is 123.456.789.69 and this should be entered into the address line of the secret menu.

Tip top, thank you very much

so i have something like this, my pc pings both my 6900 and my ip i have set in box i have xxxx a few bits and changed the id and pass, the name of the server they gave, i ping to get the 85.17.148.xxx ...

> name....www.tv-xxxxx.com
> protocol...newcamd protocol
> id....myname
> pass....mypass
> address....85.17.148.xxx
> port.....5000
> deskey 0102030405060708091011121314

in the ip setting of my 6900

dhcp off
ip address 192.168.1.9
subnet mask 255.255.255.000
gateway 192.168.1.1
dns 192.168.1.1
mac address xxxxxxxxxxx

is this correct as i still cant connect! i can see the address i have put into the 6900 super as 192.168.1.9, on my netgear router, its also not dhcp. when i connect it waits for a couple of secs then stays on disconnected!

sharps have you tried DHCP on in your router? I let my router assign an IP address to my TM6900 and it picks it up in a split second.

yes i have! from what my seetings are, is this about right then? really want to get my life back....help!

Turn DHCP on in the IP settings on the TM6900 and it should pick it up straight away.

Looks off in your post above:

Hi,
just a thought.... have you got your port >5000 open on your router? It needs to be open to work.
