I kind of agree with you but what it has in abundance is togetherness and the ability to play as a team. If Southgate could add a few better players to that squad and some how keep the spirit of teamwork he might be onto something. I think that Southgate has more than proved himself as a great manager.4th it is.
Croatia and Belgium both decent and both dismantled England with relative ease.
Been a great World Cup and lots of thrills along the way, the memes and the coming home gifs/vids have been excellent entertainment.
Not gonna lie though.....
I’m not convinced by this young team, the midfield is boring, the front line is toothless (unless Kane fancies it) and we’ve not much in the pipeline.
Not sure who we could add to the squad, Barkley maybe but he’s more of the same, Adam Lallana [emoji23] Walcott or the Ox but again more of the same quality. Drinkwater could possibly do a job and Southgate liked Livermore at one point.
Think England do look like a good team and play with togetherness we’ve not seen for years, the trouble for us is we lack real quality in key areas of the pitch. Being so wasteful in front of goal eventually costs you and so it did in our case.
Good luck to Southgate, we can only hope a couple of these young prodigies step up a level, Lingard, Sterling, Alli, Rashford all have the potential but for now they are behind the quality that’s required to be champions.
