Bought apple tv 2 what know

Got me an apple tv 2 what to do with it know my iPad streams photos ok and some videos but videos I have ripped from DVD into mpeg4 don't work and my iPhone doesn't come up with icon to connect to it all

So any advice would much appreciated

Jailbreak your Apple TV, look at this link Apple TV 2 Untethered Jailbreak on Windows and XBMC media centre installation at Arturito.net & install XBMC to it & you can preety much stream any kind of video file, 1080p seems to struggle sometimes, also install Icefilms which has got a good selection of films & TV shows to stream for free.

what fw is your iphone on ? i think it has to be on something like 4.3.3 to connect to apple tv, thats what i did for my brothewr and it connects fine now, thanks

It has firmware 4.2.1 on is it poss to jailbreak and if so what advantages have I got


Plus is there anywhere where. Can download hd films then stream them through homeshare to my apple tv got some videos on there bit they are coverts and not very good quality and wrong aspect ratio
