Hi Guys,
Had a new dm800 today which is replacement for the one I returned to the Chinese suppliers due to HD glitching.
During the 4 weeks it's taken to arrive, I've been using a dm500 with no problems.
I've hooked up the dm800, but cannot find any cccam on the 'installed cams' menu page. I click yellow button to reload list but nothing.
Do I have to manually install the cccam using dcc or something?
On my original dm800 it was just a case of selecting cccam2.1.4 and I was away.
Cheers

What image are you using? can you not download it from the blue button addons panel?

Frenchman

If your using the standard image that comes pre-installed on most clones, it's normally Gemini, all softcam support has receently been stopped by IHAD/Gemini team, so theyve been removed from their addon panel and download server.

You can manually install the cams though. If your not using Gemini, post up which image your using.

Yes, it's a gemini image.........on the blue panel>settings>addons>download from gemini server>ok, I get a load of folders up but none relate to cccam?
How do I go about manually installing cccam on to the DM?

you will need to find the softcam tar.gz file on the internet, and FTP it into the temp folder, then choose the option to do a manual install.

Or

Load up an image like the dream elite V1 that has a working blue panel to download cams and all manor of other things :)

Decided to go down the route of flashing new image.

Used the 'Unofficial Dream Elite v.133dv3 Phoenix Edition'.

Flashed the .nfi file, however I now get ERR01: NO CA FOUND on the display of the DM.

What do I do next?

HELP !!!

What sim card and bootloader have you got, SIM 2.01 or Ferarri ? Whats the full name of the image you flashed ?

Looks like you flashed an image with an incompatible bootloader, or one eoth no bootlaoder included.

You need to use serial null modem, and reflash a valid bootloader and image with a patched version of dreamup.

Thanks for the reply.
I have 2.01 Sim.
The image I flashed was :-
sim201-SSL76c-de-133dv3PHOENIX-dm800-20092010.rar
I extracted the files, selected .nfi & flashed.
I went for that one as I've seen it praised in other posts and saying it has the 76c bootloader included.

flash the 76 boot loader using a patched version of dream up then reflash the image using dream up

So far I've connected the DM via null modem cable to pc.

Using patched dreamup (forhike & natas) I clicked connect and when prompted, powered up DM which displayed the Dream Multimedia logo. I got 'uploading flash loader' message it reached 100% and then I get a pop up message 'no ca found by 2nd stage loader please contact Dream Multimedia'.

The dreamup log states: unable to ping the box using serial mode.

Tried repeating procedure but now the DM displays Error no ca immediately on power up.

Any ideas?

how strange

so turn off dm800hd

open up dreamup untick network and click connect

turn on dm800hd

what happens ?

Just an update:
Suspect Cable:

Checked the null modem cable I was using (had been kicking around since used on the starview 2)!

Found pin configuration to be:

1--------1
2--------2
3--------4
4--------3
5--------5
6--------6
7--------7
8--------8
9--------9

I'm pretty sure that I want the following pin config:

Pin 2 ---------- Pin 3
Pin 3 ---------- Pin 2
Pin 4 ---------- Pin 6
Pin 5 ---------- Pin 5
Pin 6 ---------- Pin 4
Pin 7 ---------- Pin 8
Pin 8 ---------- Pin 7

Can anyone confirm this to be the case?

Cheers!

Yes starview generally use staright thorugh cable not null modem, your pinout is a straight thorugh, so it wont work with dreamup.
Just get a cheap null modem of that well known auction site.

My mate is dropping me one off soon, so I'll give it another try.........fingers crossed !

Keep them crossed !!!
Won't be until tomorrow now.
Back to my trusty DM500 for now !

your asking for a lot

my fingers are gonna kill when i wake up tomorrow :p

Oh Dear!
Tried flashing image using a good serial null modem cable and patched dreamup to no avail keeps going back to No ca found by 2nd stage bootloader, so can't go on to flash stage.
Have tried connecting network & null modem cables, click connect on dreamup and power up DM. I still get no ca message, however, get an IP on the DM display. I put this into my browser and Boot web interface page opens. I select firmware upgrade and select image (which includes bootloader)>flash>100%. I've then tried pushing the power button on DM but no response. When I power down the DM and restart, no ca error again! Using the network/null method I have tried loading a sim201 76BL first, then loading the image after, with same result. Tried 3 different images, all end up with no ca found. Losing the will to live now!
Any ideas?

this might be the same as what you have mate im not sure, but when i 1st got the no ca error i used this and it worked no probs, does take a while to flash the image but its the only way, read the pdf and do the 2nd option!
