Hi guys
i bought a zgemma star lc from the bay with a gift
A week on and the channels are starting to freeze or just getting a black screen:Angryfire
ive messaged the bloke i got it from and he says everything is ok on his end.
My download speed is fine(virginmedia)
Apart from the freezing the picture quality is fine
If anyone can help me,i would appreciate it
Many thanks
Im new to these so take please take your time with me

Could be several things but before you change anything try a couple of test lines from other servers you will then have a better idea who's end the problem is at, not sure which cam you're using but I find oscam and mgcam are better than ccam ,also what way are you connecting to the internet I personally prefer the home plugs with a cable directly into the box or if you can connect directly to the router with the cable even better again , I find the USB WiFi sticks to be hit and miss, but try a different provider first and see is it any better if it is then your current provider is maybe your problem.

Use direct wired connection.
If your using homeplugs reboot them often.
Broadband speed is not an issue. I've seen 2meg work on a dongle.

But almost 100% sure the issue is with supplier.
The sellers bay usually get lines for £6 and them sell them on at higher price to flebay buyers.
I doubt the seller knows if everything is ok on his end as he's no control or access to the goodies.

If its only happened "within a week" most likely there is 3 lines in it and probably only one working now.
Just a matter of time till they all go down mate.

I really do think your provider is the only one that can help you as he's supplying your service.

Thanks for the reply's
Yes im hard wired straight into my modem.
Can i ask where i would get a couple of test lines
How can i find out what cam im using?
thanks again

Not sure what image you have on the box but openatv is usually preinstalled on zgemma, so press the blue button and select softcams it should tell you what cam you're using or go to menu and look for softcams, as for test lines I don't supply them but I can give you the name of a website via pm and you can get them there or just Google cardsharing and you'll see providers, you then will probably need a tutorial on how to put the line on the box ,I think there are a few on here someone might be able to point you to the correct page or again just Google it.

Press menu on remote go to information then network.
You will see boxes IP address.
Now run FileZilla on your computer and it will ask you for user and password.
User will be your box IP address and password will be root.

On openvix go to var then keys.
(I think openATV is different and not sure if same path)
You should have 2 files. mg_cfg and newcamd.list.

If supplier gave you newcamd.list file drag that over to newcamd.list (in keys)
it will ask you to replace it and allow it.
Then restart your cam on remote.

If codes are supplied go var then keys. You will newcamd.list then right click to edit.
Then type what was supplied to as follows.

CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
CWS = HOST PORT USER PASS 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

(take note of spaces)
save it then restart cam on remote.

use oscam - see my post here for config files

I have successfully used oscam to clear vm channels

Thanks for the reply. I don't have OSCAm, only CCam and MGCAM 135. The MGCAM is teh softcam that I restart to clear. The channels that don;t clear are like SKY sports 1 HD and the frequency is much different than the normal SD channel? The tuner says Can't tune or no SID in PAT (sounds a bit eastenders?). The supplier says all is good at his end. The box then pulls a fatal error and restarts (slowly).

Is your channel list up to date?
I would rescan and run autobouquets

I think it/teh box downloaded it from github, if that's the channel list for Virgin. I've done loads of rescans (takes about 30 mins) and autobouquets. I do think it is a frequency thing, though, after reading posts on this forum. What's a manual scan and how would I add in or get frequency details for a channel such as Sky Sports 1 HD? Thanks

I have now worked it out. Full scan, make autoboutiques then do a manual scan, change to the lowest frequency 100 something and then scan again. It somehow fixes all the channels including the HD ones, including those that showed no sid in pat. If, I can, I will post my backup image tonight. Zgemma LC only. LMK where is best, the forum or link to dropbox?

The link is missing, please post again.

try these settings for vm
