Hi

I have a zgemma h2h up and running fine on both VM and Sky at the moment I'm using a 16gb USB stick, but need to free up the USB for a Wi-Fi dongle, I'm having trouble initialising an micro sd card I have tried a 32gb and a 16gb card both cheap ones I will add, but with no luck can anyone recommend a good working micro sd card min 16gb :)

:)

Try this,I got it working by using the card reader in the rear USB port on the box, initialized it, box off, into the side of the box, box on. It then automounted and all's good!

Have you got 1 or 2 cables from the dish connected to the box

Probably not, the plugin works for sure but there are a few key points you need to follow to get it to fully work for what you want it to do:

1) You need to make sure there are no partitions at all on the SD card, so the only space on there is shown as unallocated - I use EaseUS Partition Master to do this but it's important to only use it to do this, don't be tempted to use it to format the card as further down the line it'll give you problems.

2) With the now 'partition free' SD card put it in the receiver and boot it up. Once booted make sure it has not been mounted (you won't be able to use the format tool for something that's already mounted), so Blue > Mounts > Device Manager and use Unmount (yellow button) if required.

3) Once unmounted head to my SD Format Plugin (in Plugin Browser) and let it run. It'll take a while, SD cards just do and usual thing the bigger the storage space the longer it'll take, but in the end it'll get there and then the receiver will reboot.

4) Once it boots back up head back to Device Manager again, you should see the card there listed as ext4 R/W and probably pre-mounted but you will probably want to change this to /media/hdd (pre-defined paths for recording and timeshift) so press the red button for 'use as HDD' - This should update the mount to /media/hdd.

5) You are almost there but an important step here now - Give the receiver a full reboot via the menu now, not just GUI restart, it wan't to be a full restart but via menu rather than just pulling power.

Hopefully if all went well when the receiver boots back up now you will have the SD card mounted as /media/hdd, the reboot will have created two folders on there (movie and timeshift) and you should be ready to go for both recording and timeshift, you can also use this for EPG data as well if you wish.

Good luck :)

Then go into settings and make sure both tuner A and B are enabled

Nice one, what size and type of Kingston was it, I am currently using a 32gb Sandisk Ultra.

Is this script the latest version ?
Do you have an ArmV7 .ipk version ?
I am trying the get my sdcard "SanDisk Ultra microSDXC Class 10 UHS-I U1 A1 400GB" working as media/hdd on an Octagon SF8008.

Best regards
No mate its from 2017 and the script installed and enigma 2 image to sd card it is not what you require.

Id format that with the HPtool to fat32 stick it in the octagon and convert it to ext4

Super, Thx for the reply.

I am not sure what you mean by "convert it to ext4" .. ?
Is there a special "Convert to ext4" feature
or is it the "Device Manager" format feature that will do the conversion to ext4 ?

Thx
Best regards

Think its device manager with a blank usb/card as any items when formatted will erase it and ext4 is correct when setup to record.
Just make sure you are doing the correct one and not a hdd full of recordings.
