just got a phone call from a good m8 and he is after a cable box

is this a good box and easy to set up ?

his price bracket is £70 tops

For the money i dont think he will find anything better.

It's a e2 box so if familiar its as easy as any other e2 box.

got the box today guys , trying to insert the network id Gateshead TW 40969 571.000 6.952

but on the 571.00 all i can put in is 571 and on the 6.952 all i can put in is 6952

is that correct ?

plus where can i get the mg_cfg and mgcamd.1.38

flashed the box with Open ATV 5.1

and can ftp to the box


think iv found it guys MgCamd 1.3.8 For OpenATV Image

well managed to scan for channels got that bit working lol

still after a bit help guys on the MgCamd

1. Get the softcam ipk file' and save it to your pc (e.g desktop);
2. using filezilla ftp to your box;
3. In the left hand margin of filezilla scroll to where you have saved the ipk file. For example, if it was on your desktop you would click on desktop in the top left pane;
4. Now go to the box files right hand pane > scroll to tmp and click on it to open the tmp files;
5. Now back to the left pane > click on the ipk file > right click > choose upload. This transfers the ipk file to tmp on your box.
6. Now on your remote control press menu > setup > software management > scoll down to install local extension > press ok > scroll to memory /tmp > ok > ok > green.

did that bit ok

mmmm still not seeing the softcam installed help !!!!!!

spud how are you coping with the bouquets have you got 2 lots of them one sly one vm ?

sorted everything but this but the first time (before changing the skin )i had only 1 set with channels from both providers in them

dont like how theres identical bouquets but with different channels from the 2 providers surely auto bouquets maker can be configured to leave out identcally named channels
leaving just 1 set of correctly named bouquets with a mix from both sly +vm in them.

just using VM m8 so not had that problem , thank god lol

back again lol

has any one got Mgcmd and mg_cfg.mg

running open ATV 5.1 on virgin

got ccamd running fine but would like to use Mgcmd

Can some one check this is setup correct for my box please



and installed enigmaplugin-softcams-mgcamd-1.38_1.r0_mipsel.ipk

and set it to 755

and using Cam 1 not Cam 2

well got it working in the end guys , just installed a Vix image and its running Mgcmd

learned quite a bit in a few days , and thanks to every one that has helped me

got a external HD running ok now

so thought i would try to FileZilla a AVI film to the movie folder and see if it would play on the TV

yip it worked wow

so what else can this box do guys ?
