Hi all, i have 2 zgemma h2s boxes, both were working fine, i downloaded and tried to install an update in kodi-direct and the box went off, switching it on and off doesn't help, i tried connecting to it with filezilla but its not even showing on the network, it appears to turn on and off with the remote but no picture or anything, what can i do to restore it?

I am a complete newbie so would need the idiots guide :)

Thanks.

Will need to be reflashed first images are here

This is a base image but flash it then we can talk you through configuring it.

You could also take a backup from you working box and then flash that image to the one not working.

So, if i make an image back up from my working box all i need to do is put it on the bricked box?, if so, how do i flash? the box doesn't show up on the network?

Thanks for responding by the way :)

Also i get nothing on the tv from it so how would i know what im doing?

you flash the receiver by putting the image onto a USB stick placing into the rear usb on the unit switching the power off then switch on front displau will say USB then press the power button on the front and the dispaly should change to FLSH.

But i agree with @Ferret your beter using a base non backup image first just to get the receiver to flash and work

Thanks for the replies, i downloaded the image given in this thread and followed digi247's advice but the box still says "boot" no mater what i do, would a large hammer work? ;)

I must say that it was stuck in boot before trying to flash, putting the usb in did not show on the front of the box nor did it show FLSH when i pressed the power button.

My usb is 60GB and fat32 formatted

EDIT: Just tried with a 2GB fat32 and it still didnt recognse it!

Format stick to fat32
Transfer the zgemma folder to the usb stick

Look inside that folder do you have a file named noforce ? If you do name it to force.

Now power off the h2 insert usb and power on if the files system on the usb stick is correct then the front display should change to Flsh

Should that file be on the usb unzipped?, should i just drag the entire zgemma folder over to it? my stick is FAT32 and previously i just dragged the entire zipped file on to the stick, i am currently reformatting the stick again to fat32 and will put whatever file in whatever format you say on it, the file you asked about is named force already.

Thanks guys, dragging the unzipped folder in to the stick did the trick, am now a happy camper!!!
