Just ordered ZGemma star s HD

Ordered 1 of these for my mate ,anyone recommend a good image and FTP software to insert cccam CFG .Clines etc

I understand the easiest way to flash is via sub stick

I use openpli and for ftp I use flashfxp. It is flashed via usb stick

Thanks guys ,I will use DCC as I'm farmilier with using that on my DM500

I still use the Vix4e2 image available on this forum for my 2S, think its the quickest and best suited iage

Seen on YouTube people putting a usb stick n the back of the box and setting up a swap fle ,is this a must?.

Looking at the open tv image with blue HD skin with epg ,but not essential

USB device is pretty much necessary if you are going to use EPG as the box only has 256MB flash memory I think and weeks epg download could crash the box. A 16GB stick would be fine and also allow you to pause live TV but an external USB HDD would also the external drive could be used for recordings.

Just be aware for flashing the box, then don't use a USB memory stick more that 16GB in size as the box can get picky.

It needs to be a Zgemma image mate anyone should do

i cant get the bloddy thing to flash ,ive formatted the usb stick ,unzipped the files ,put the z gemma folder on the usb ,powered on held in the button and ,nothing just keeps booting up the image that cam with the box

any ideas ?/

Try another usb stick mate some are not liked

It should boot straight from the stick on powerup. Ive had the same fault with certain usb sticks. smaller capcity ones seem to work better

does it need to be completly clean as i have stuff on my other usb sticks ?

Not sure but try it with the zgemma folder on the root. If not save your content on the pc then format the stick and try it

Different usb done the trick ,just need to figure out how to get the sky skin and cccam sorted ,will have a play tomorrow when the Mrs is at work ,she wanting strictly on

I've put on the latest open vix from here for the star s ,i assume ,cccam and the sky skin can be installed through the image ?..

It can but the vix image is a patched image and is not supported by vix. Opentv or open pli are supported and you can download the
cccam via the plugins within the image. the skin will be an ipk and is easy installed via the image. You can still install cccam on the vix image but you may have to do it via an ipk file

Might change to open atv or pli then ,I'm setting it up for my mate so wanting something that's easy to use and the channels are all in sections ,hence why I want sky looking skin

I'm still on the old trusty dm 500 with commando ,easy Peasy lol
