Zgemma Newbie

Hi,
I've just bought myself a Zgemma 2S.
I've only used Open boxes V8S before.
Done some reading up on flashing the box.
Successfully flashed the box only to find later it freezes on certain menu pages.
Looking for an image with Sly skin ideally.
However after creating my CCcam.cfg file and finding where to put it. Ftp'd the file. Only receiving FTA.
Any ideas?
Can anyone recommend an image and where to get it from?

Start by flashing other images with no menu lockups and then we can guide you through the rest

OK I've managed to flash my zgemma box and it's stable.
I've flashed with a pretty installed Sly type skin.
I'm receiving FTA ok
What's my next move?

Have you installed a emu/cam ? If so what one and what image did you end up with. Next step to get it functional after installing a cam would be to add a line assuming you have one.

Ok I've got an N line which I've been using in my Open box.
I've read and managed to ftp the CCcam.cfg file.
I will check what image I've flashed it was from a backup image. The instructions said just edit your line details which I did. As a newbie I'm willing to learn and have done some reading on the subject in this forum.

What image it it your using ?

An nline is better used in mgcamd

OK the image I downloaded was Apollo 165
Instructions said edit your CCcam.cfg which I did by entering my N line details
FTA is fine except the settings are set to Northern Ireland not sure how to switch to NWest.
Ive been reading and noticed that you have to go into softcam manager to start the cam
The Cam im using is Ccam 2.3.0.0 there was also mgcamd in there which was enabled.
Is there a better image to use if so which one?

I am currently doing a Service Scan scanning channels.

Well at least you now know your connected to your server and its working.

You could use OpenATV as your box is offically supported by OpeanATV.

On the channel front id use Rats auto updater plugin nicely laid out bouqets.

When you say an N line is better in mgcamd what should I be installing and where?

Update so far....
Zgemma box flashed with Apollo 165 image.
Receing fta only.
Disabled Mgcamd and started CCcam 2.3.0
Started to receive some sly channels but not all channels being displayed Service not found! (SID not found in PAT)
Tried a channel scan but nothing changed.
Today received a Hades 018 openvix image from Zgemma 2s supplier reflashed box.
Edited CCcam.cfg file in etc folder. Added picon folder to enigma2 folder.
Receive fta only. Also some channels are missing ie ITV ch3 SID not found in PAT
Enabled Mgcamd but still same.
Tried a Service Scan.
Restarted box still same missing channels.
Disabled Mgcamd and enabled CCcam 2.3.0 started to receive all channels however nothing listed and no picture for ITV channel.
Any advice appreciated.

Right, everything seems to be up and running except that Channel 3 ITV and Channel 5 Ch5 are not working.
Service not found (SID not found in PID) Yet if I scroll down, All channel list there is ITV which is working.
Can you swap the channels around or is there a way around this.

Are you viewing the channel from the favourite/bouquets ?

If so rescanning wont fix channels from the bouquets, scan then.

Youll need to delete it from the bouquet then find th channel from the main satellite list green button and re add it to bouquets.

Well Rat advised on another thread for you to use the autobouqets plugin so try that and maybe stick to your problem on the one thread please.

Ive managed to select sly uk channel list and rescaned. ITV returned with no problem.
Channel 5 however is a different story.
If you select channel 5 the epg details are there but its just a black screen no SID not found in PAT error.
All other channels are ok.

Just noticed ch5 is a HD channel but i thought fta is ok in HD

You need to use a channel editor Dream Box Edit and Dreamset are popular editors.
