Hi guys, just after a little bit of advice. My zgemma is very picky about when it flashes from usb. I've had it flash no probs, delete the zgemma folder replace with new folder and it refuses to flash. I've tried renaming noforce to force but still didn't work. I got fed up having to keep on wiping and formatting, i thought at first it was due to not making sure drive was formatting as primary but wasnt that.

Looking about the menus i tried to flash it by first choosing rootfs.bin Then i flashed kernel.bin then splash.bin

This seems to have worked fine though i did suffer from the fear a bit when i saw it was flashing rootfs.

My question is, is that an acceptable way to flash these box's and also, have i flashed the files in the correct order?

Thanks a lot folks

9 times out of ten its because the box does not like the usb stick your using.

Make sure its been formatted to fat32 with The HP Format tool and name noforce to force if your still having issues it will be the stick.

Thanks Ferret. I did think it would be the stick, had it for a while. But its the only one i have at the moment. It's only 8 gig so i'll get another one soon as. I've initialized the stick in the box now as its looking alright but its hard to resist the urge to start tinkering

I find small sticks better, flash all my boxes with 2gb Kingstons.

These Boxes can be very picky when it comes to USB sticks
I use Sandisk Cruzer Facet 8gb usb and find them reliable, as soon as flashing is done when box shows "boot" i remove the USB stick as i think if the box boots up i think the file system of USB`s can be altered in some way, which results in the USB requiring a format to use again for flashing, i also find Lexar work ok

I tried to put a back up on my h1 as usual after many tries the boot doesnt show at all is the box bricked? there is just a red light on front panel I teried a bootloader from zgemma but to no avail.

If it is bricked can this be cured?

Does the usb stick flash as though the box is using it ?

Also if the is a file named noforce in the folder rename it to force and try reflash.
